It is an exciting time to be an alumnus of Virginia Wesleyan University. The 91·çÔÂÂ¥ Alumni Council has worked hard to develop a strategic plan to involve all alumni in the life of the University. Whether it's through recruiting, interacting with current students, attending events, or giving to your favorite VWU program, we encourage you to become involved. There are no annual membership dues.

Marie Lerch '19 graduated from Charleston School of Law in May of 2023. Upon graduation, she took and passed the South Carolina Bar. She now practices as a Criminal Prosecutor in the Charleston area. She and Clay Brumbaugh '18 were also recently engaged.
Rachel Koelliker Vanek ‘80 retired in 2022 after 30 years in the medical ICU as an acute care nurse practitioner at University Hospitals of Cleveland. She loved the work and her work family and patients, but the time was right to retire. Rachel enjoys life spending more time with husband Derek, their 5 grandchildren, and extended family. Rachel and Derek enjoy trail riding and camping with their horses, hiking, kayaking and spending the last 2 winters in central Florida. Rachel took up playing the mountain dulcimer and has joined an old time string band. Rachel connects with a few VWC classmates on a regular basis and hopes to make Homecoming this fall.
Ken Barber '98Â has been promoted to Operations Site Manager in support of a contract team supporting the United State Air Force cyber, training and flight operations. Ken recently celebrated his twelve year anniversary as an Associate Professor at University of Maryland, Global Campus teaching public safety, critical response and homeland security policies.

The VWU Athletic Hall of Fame honors those who, by outstanding achievement in athletics, by service to athletics, or through significant contributions to athletics, have made lasting contributions to VWU's intercollegiate athletic program.
